Emily McLaurin, MD, is a board-certified family physician with 17 years of experience that includes both inpatient and outpatient clinical care, medical education, research, and international medical work. As the founder, she is passionate about caring for the whole person, supporting health in families, and improving primary care in Oklahoma City and beyond. Dr. McLaurin loves taking care of people from all ages and stages of life.
Prior to starting Foundations Direct Care, Dr. McLaurin practiced at St. Anthony Hospital for 5 years and has volunteered as a physician at Ministries of Jesus Clinic for 12 years. She earned her bachelors at Rice Univeristy, medical degree at University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX and completed her residency training at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Dr. McLaurin loves adventures: she loves to travel, hike, savor delicious food with friends and family, play the violin and piano, and just curl up with a good book. She embraces her Taiwanese American heritage and loves learning new languages. She is always working to improve her skills in Mandarin, Taiwanese, and Spanish and is eager to add more languages to the mix.
Denean Knapp is an Occupational Therapist with more than 22 years experience in pediatrics and 10 years experience in Craniosacral and Manual Therapy. She also has 15 years experience as a yoga instructor, including developing the “Release Therapeutic Style” of yoga.
Denean has been in the school and educational setting, owned and operated an aquatic therapy company, and sees clients for CSMT in both private and clinical settings.
Denean was an All-American Swimmer for Texas A&M University and has trained with the Upledger Institute and internationally renowned, Dr. Ed Stiles. She has a bold love for Jesus and her six year-old daughter, Presley. She enjoys swimming, reading, family, and friends.
Lori Ofsak, CMA has dedicated over 20 years of her life to helping others as a medical assistant. With a caring heart and skilled hands, she finds joy in making a difference in people's lives during their times of need. Though her work is demanding, Lori remains energized by her passion for healthcare.
Outside of work, Lori is happily married to her best friend. Together they have raised three wonderful children who are now grown adults. She is blessed to also be a doting mimi to two beautiful grandchildren.
Faith and service are important parts of Lori's life. She is actively involved with her church community, trusting in God's guidance for her path.
Lori's dedication to her family, work, faith and community is an inspiration. She is a loving wife, mother and mimi who also manages to help numerous patients with skilled care and compassion. After 20 plus years as a CMA, Lori's passion for the work and for helping others remains strong. She is committed to making a positive impact on the world through her gifts of nurturing care.
Karla Ede is a registered nurse with over 10 years of experience caring for patients in the neonatal ICU. She was born and raised in Oklahoma City and graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma's nursing program in 2014. For nearly 5 years, Karla worked as an RN in the NICU at a local hospital, becoming nationally certified in this specialty in 2017.
Outside of work, Karla cherishes time with her husband of 7 years and their two energetic children. She has a passion for the outdoors and loves spending time playing outside as a family.
Driven by a desire to serve others, Karla and her husband moved overseas after having their first child. For several years they lived in South Asia, where Karla taught women about health, pregnancy, and childcare. She has since gained valuable cross-cultural medical experience across 5 continents.
Karla brings to the Foundations Direct Care team her specialized nursing skills and global perspective to compassionately care for patients from all backgrounds.
